01 Apr EASTER – A BURST OF LIGHT FROM THE EAST
Excluding religious significance for the moment, I like to think that these “fresh” days of spring can be an invitation for all of us.
The days are lengthening and most of us respond rather spontaneously to the added minutes and hours of “new” light that is brought with each new day. I feel happy to have these added hours and respond, like the plants and trees, to the sun. It is a relief to have gotten through another winter. Symbolically it could be considered moving through dark days – or months – or years.
No matter how you celebrate this day, try turning to the light of the East to be filled with renewed hope. Respond like the seeds in the earth that answer the miracle of this new season and begin to grow. Soon flowers will be blooming.
The opportunity of renewal and recharged hope is knocking at the door of your heart. Open it up and remember the words of the Delai Lama:
“Never give up.”
Easter is here and a new beginning is possible.
