FAQ

HOW CAN I EXPECT TO FEEL AFTER A LESSON?

I always tell students, “You come in feeling one way and leave feeling quite differently.” Most probably, you will feel invigorated and more relaxed, and hopefully in a better mood, because usually, during the time we spend together, we laugh, practice, and regenerate.

WHO CAN COME?

Anyone seriously interested in learning more about Yoga is welcome. Vanda often said, “There are no beginners and no advanced students in this practice.” Lessons can be arranged by contacting me either by telephone or email.

WHAT DO I NEED TO WEAR?

No special clothing is necessary. Simply make sure that you are wearing something comfortable; (loose pants and a tee shirt for example). We are barefoot so the only time you might want to wear a pair of socks is when doing Savasana. Everything needed for practice is available onsite.

WHY ARE WE STILL PRACTICING SOMETHING THAT IS 2,000 YEARS OLD?

Vanda’s answer: “In the past, it was hidden because it gave so much energy, but now it must be used to help others and to work for the good. It brings well-being without intellectualizing or spiritualizing. It is a process for well-being. It is not focused on an end or on techniques.”

I HAVE LIMITED TIME. WHAT ARE A FEW IMPORTANT POSES?

The Mountain Pose
Bending Forward and Allowing the Spine to Lengthen
There are many different positions you can choose from.
Shoulder Stand, if you practice it

Select a Breathing Exercise you enjoy doing: Alternate Nostril Breathing, Kapalabati, Viloma or simple Breathing: In – Out

WHY DO YOU PRACTICE BAREFOOT?

The foot is our main connection to the ground.
When the toes are free to spread—rather than confined by tight socks or shoes—the heels activate, the ankles engage, and the legs strengthen.
This creates a deeper connection to the earth, enhancing stability. As a result, the pull of gravity is felt strongly.
